Nissan Enthusiasts Club, Singapore -
NECS (previously known as Sunny Club Singapore
and Singapore Nissan Club)
was founded by Kong MC in January 2001. It started off with 5 Nissan Sunnys
and to date, it has more than 1,000 members (as at 1 June 2004).
Kong MC was driving a Nissan Sunny B13 and was searching around on the Internet for a forum that discuss
about Nissan cars. There were a number back then, but most of them were based
in US and other parts of the world. Kong feels that there is a need to start
a local car club and Nissan Club Singapore was born.
To recruit more members into the Club, Kong embarked on
a project to attract Nissan drivers to the club. He approaches moderators of other
car forums to pass the news around that he has formed Nissan Club. Kong also
designed the first decal for the club (then, Sunny Club Singapore). He printed 150
of them and were sold out within one and a half month.
Nissan Enthusiasts Club, Singapore, has now become an active site and forum
for all Nissan makes. That includes, Sunny, Presea, March, Cefiro, Silvia,
Skyline, Fairlady, NX Coupe, Pulsar,
and many others.
The Club was handed over to MJ_23 in January 2004 as Kong
was tie down by his many other commitments. MJ_23
was driving a
Nissan Sunny B14. Together with a new Moderating Team, in
March 2004, NECS celebrated its 3rd Anniversay with a huge
CARnival in Turf City which attracted more than 500 members
and friends to the event.
Nissan Enthusiasts Club, Singapore aimed to be the most active car club
in Singapore and aim to promote the club to this region. One day, all Nissan Cars
in Singapore will have the club decal on their windscreen.
